Holiday DIY With Essential Oils

Looking for a few homemade gift ideas or something festive to put in your diffuser? Here are four of my holiday DIYs. Try Merry & Bright while you’re wrapping gifts, or make a little jar of Sugar Plum Fairy Hand Scrub and add a handwritten tag.
I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you if you shop through my doTERRA link. Read my full disclosure.
1. Merry & Bright Diffuser Blend
Peppermint and Wild Orange are a fun combination. Add a little Rosemary if you like an herbal note with your mint and citrus.
- 2 drops Peppermint
- 3 drops Wild Orange
- 1 drop Rosemary
2. Winter Wonderland Diffuser Blend
If you’d rather have something woodsy, try Cedarwood and Northern Escape with a little Wintergreen.
- 3 drops Cedarwood
- 3 drops Wintergreen
- 1 drop Northern Escape
Adjust the total number of drops to suit your diffuser. If you want more ideas, I share ten more in Winter Diffuser Blend Recipes. And if you’re a candy cane fan like me, try Candy Cane Lane in Holiday Diffuser Blends.
3. Mocha Coffee Scrub
Coffee and brown sugar smell good together before you’ve even finished stirring. This one would be fun to tuck into a gift basket with a bag of coffee.
- ¾ cup ground coffee
- ½ cup brown sugar
- ¼ cup coconut oil
Mix the ingredients in a bowl and spoon the scrub into a clean, dry jar. Use a small amount on damp hands, rub gently, and rinse.
4. Sugar Plum Fairy Hand Scrub
I think this one is worth making just for the name! Tie a ribbon around the jar and write Sugar Plum Fairy on the tag.
- ¾ cup white sugar
- ½ cup unrefined coconut oil
Mix the sugar and coconut oil in a bowl and spoon into a clean, dry jar. Use a small amount on damp hands, rinse, and pat dry.
One quick note. Use a clean, dry spoon to scoop out your scrub, and wipe up any oil around the sink so it stays easy to grip. Follow your diffuser’s directions and keep oils out of reach of children and pets.
Which one would you make first?
